What makes Brush On Block® Protective Lip Oil a Mineral Sunscreen?

As a mineral sunscreen, Brush On Block® Protective Lip Oil does not contain harmful chemical ingredients. Brush On Block® contains titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, both of which are well-known, naturally occurring minerals. Both minerals offer broad-spectrum, SPF 32sunscreening action when used as directed, and provide some of the safest sun protection available. Unlike chemical sunscreens which work by being absorbed into the skin, our Protective Lip Oil features natural minerals which sit on top of your skin and reflect the sun’s rays away from your body. Since it is not absorbed into the skin, it is less likely to irritate the delicate skin of your lips.

Is Protective Lip Oil a lip sunscreen or a lip color?

Both! We set out to make a pleasant and moisturizing lip protection product that wouldn’t leave your lips feeling dry or chapped after sun exposure. We knew it needed a hint of color, since mineral sunscreen actives are white, so we created Nude Tint, with just a hint of color. After the launch of Nude Tint, we realized that people loved the feel, but also wanted color, so Fig and Coral were born, to bring a little more color to your lip sunscreen!

Does Protective Lip Oil stay on the lips for long?

Protective Lip Oil is an oil, so the oil itself will come off fairly easily if eating or drinking, however the sun protection is in the pigment, which will remain for 2 hours unless you wipe your lips. Most people love our product for the moisture it provides as well as the sun protection, so they apply whenever their lips feel dry. For continuous sun protection, reapply after 2 hours or after wiping your lips.

Has Brush On Block® Protective Lip Oil been tested on animals?

Brush On Block® is a cruelty-free company. We do not test our products on animals.

Is Brush On Block® Protective Lip Oil suitable for vegans?

Brush On Block® is vegan-friendly and contains no animal by-products.

Can I wear Protective Lip Oil with other lip makeup?

Absolutely! Nude Tint is beautiful over most lip colors, just altering them slightly, but providing you with a protected pout. Fig and Coral can also be worn over other lip colors to create a unique shade that protects as it makes a statement.

How often do I need to reapply Protective Lip Oil?

When you are out in the sun, you should reapply Protective Lip Oil at least every 2 hours, but may wish to do so more frequently if you are eating or drinking, or if your lips feel dry from the environment.

Can men wear Protective Lip Oil?

They certainly can! Nude Tint is the choice of most men, because it won’t change the color of the lips, but we are firm believers that you should wear what makes you feel good while you are protecting your skin!
