- Twist middle section left to open
- Tap brush to prime powder
- Remove cap and slide sleeve down
- Flick wrist to distribute powder to bristles
- Apply in circular motions
- Twist right to close
When your original brush is empty, simply:
- Remove the caps from the bottom of the brush and the top of the refill.
- Keeping your refill upright, slide the brush over the top of the refill.
- Close the cap on the bottom of your brush to hold the refill in place.

Dermatologists recommend that every person wear SPF 30 every single day. So most days, SPF 30 is great. However, if the sun is shining and you are spending a lot of time outdoors, you may appreciate the extra protection you get from SPF 50. If you have very fair skin, are at a high altitude or in the tropics, or are on snow or water, you should definitely use SPF 50 to be sure you are protected from harmful UV rays.
No. The numbers make it look that way, but in reality, SPF 30 blocks 96.7% of UVB rays. SPF 50 blocks 98%. While 1.3% doesn’t sound like much, when you are in intense sun situations (see above question) or if you have very fair skin, that 1.3% is very helpful. Keep in mind, no SPF blocks 100% of UVB rays.
It is made for all skin types. Because it is a dry powder and is non-comedogenic, it is great for oily and acne-prone skin. The hydrating and emollient ingredients make it great for dry skin types as well, keeping the powder from being overly drying to the skin. Sensitive types will love the gentle ingredients, the soft synthetic bristles and the lack of chemical sunscreen actives.
When you buff your Brush On Block on your skin (in a circular motion) be sure that you are covering each part multiple times. You can see what your skin should look at by applying to the back of one hand and then comparing it to your other hand.

No sunscreen is truly waterproof, but our mineral powder sunscreens are water and sweat resistant for 80 minutes.
It should not, because it does not contain any harsh chemical sunscreen actives.
Yes, it is!
Yes, but… There is nothing wrong with applying the powder to your body—especially really exposed areas like the tops of your feet, knees and shoulders, but to use it as your primary sunscreen all over your body would take a very long time and use your powder quite quickly. That’s up to you, though! We designed Brush On Block for face, neck, arms and hands, plus those places that need a little extra coverage.
